Hi all! I just want to thank everyone for all the support I received in my journey to this surgery. I had Lap RNY GB on 07/12/04 and as of today, 07/21/04, I had my first post-op appointment. Got my staples out and found out I lost 22 lbs. from pre-op weight of 304#. I am so happy now. Energy level is going up. Just very satisfied. LOVE BEIN' ON THE LOSING SIDE!!!!! Thanks, Shawna

Shawna: Congrats !!!! You are doing great. I will be having my lap RNY late this fall. Sometime when you are up to it I would like to hear how the experience was for you. No rush and if you don't have time, that is okay to. Keep up the good work.....it will all be worth it in the end. Debbie

It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. My best advice is to always eat a low fat diet (forever), and start an exercise program that you can stick with for life. I started swimming 2 months after surgery and swim at least 4-5 days per week, and now also run and tae bo. I couldn't even walk around the block before, now I running in 10K marathons. I am 2 years post op and lost 100 pounds during my first year. It's all gone and I have a new lease on life. Don't forget to take a lot of pictures. I didn't, now I only have a few fat pictures and none of my progress. I wish I had.

Yeah!!!! Doing the HAPPY dance for you!!!! It sure feels great after all that hard work of adjusting to your pouch doesn't it?? I had lost 21 pounds in my first post-op check. I go again on Monday for my 1 month. I'm pretty sure that I've lost more since my clothing is fitting differently. Keep it up!! Isn't it fun to be a loser?? hee hee hee
