Venting about Insurance!!

Just a quick post to keep my sanity. I know I am a very impatient person and like to know what is going on in all aspects of life in general. But I am getting a little worried about how long it is taking for any one to get back to me on pre-approval for (WLS). My origional paper-work was turned in 4 weeks ago and when I called badeger care they told me it was returned to the hospital for additional info. I called my provider and she assured me that it was corrected and returned to the insurance company 2 weeks ago. I waited a week which was now the 3rd. week and hadn't heard anything so I called them and there is no status change to my case. I am sure it is sitting on someones desk waiting for them to look it over. I am not sure what else to do every one I talk too seems to say the same thing the insurance company tells me to call the provider and the provider tells me to call the insurance company. I feel like I am lost in the woods and cant get any help to figure out how to more forward. I know they have 20 days to give their decision. But any kind of incling as to what is going on would be nice. Has anyone else had this problem with badger care and if so is there any thing else I could do to get the ball rolling a little faster. Any comments or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, PJ

Hi PJ! Do you have a Bariatric Coordinator you are working with from the Surgeons Office? If you do, I would have that person help you, or even your Surgeon, tell them what is going on and have them get involved. I know what you mean about having it laying on someone desk, I had mine returned for additional information needed and I was on the phone to that Surgeons Office and to the Insurance Co. ASAP and didnt stop until I knew the Insurance Co. had the paperwork in hand!!! Good luck and keep hounding them! Lynnette
