Hi everyone, Well my weight loss journey is in full force. It wasn't as easy as everyone told me. I went into surgery on Monday morning at 8:00 AM. The surgery Dr. advised my wife and kids that I would be out of surgery by 10:30-11:00 AM. Well at 2:30PM. I got out of surgery. The wife and kids were in a panic at 12:00 wondering up was wrong. The Dr. came out to talk to the family and advised that when they were using the stapler from the inside of my pouch the stapler got stuck and they tried to pull it free and it tore a big laceration in my stomach pouch. It took them 1 1/2 more to repair the laceration to my stomach. I was under for 6 1/2 hrs. The Dr's were every concerned with what went wrong. They wouldn't let me drink anything until Friday afternoon, Had to have three swallow studies done. Boy that stuff the make you drink really sucks. But I'm home now and that all that matters. One thing I forgot to tell is on Tuesday I came down with pneumonia let me tell you that really did me in. I just wanted to tell everyone I was home. Going to nap now!
Welcome home. Hope the rest of your journey is down hill from here.
Goes to show you that life is precious. That WLS is, like any other surgery dangerous. You can have the most knowledgeable dr. in the world. However, they are human and accidents happen.
Someone I know that is going to the same clinic that I am -- had some complications. The dr. had to consult w/a dr in another state while she was under on how to fix the problem. I am not going to go into detail because is she wants it known she will tell.
Glad you are home. That is best place to start your recovery.
Love, Gala
Welcome home Jim!
I was sorry to learn about your complication during surgery. I also went through a complication so I know how that takes a toll on your body. Please get plenty of rest!
