Looking to meet other post-ops in Madison/Middleton

I just discovered this portion of the site. I am looking to meet other post-ops in the Madison/Middleton area. I am 35 and work in Baraboo and had my Lap-RNY in LaCrosse. I haven't found a support group in the Madison area (and LaCrosse is too far to drive on a frequent basis) that I could attend to meet others so I am hoping that others looking for a post-op friend might send me an email.

Hi Kara, Nice to meet you. I had my surgery done in Madison back in June, and there is a support group at Meriter Hospital the 1st Tuesday of every month. I don't have to much support on my own, but am always looking to meet up and talk with someone who is going through the same things as me. The Meriter group is great and free. If you go through Dean Care it is $25 a year. I prefer the Meriter group over Dean more organized. Would love to talk some time. You can email me personally at [email protected]. Hi Kara, I live in Sauk City and will have my surgery done in Brookfield. I am having the lap band and will be self pay. I was hoping that maybe in summer or whenever we could start a support group somewhere in between Baraboo and Madison. What is some of your opinions on the support group even though we all don't have the same surgery the affect is still to lose weight and etc. Denise

I would love to have a support group in the area. I think even though we all have different surgeries, some of the complications and emotional issues we post-ops have to deal with are the same. I had my surgery done in LaCrosse and that support group is too far away to go to on a regular basis. I would love to have one in the area and to find some people in the area with the same issues.
