I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm new to this board and new the entire site. I'm in SW Wisconsin and I'm looking into information about bariatric surgury and weightloss options for myself. I just wanted to post and introduce myself and say hello and any help on my weightloss journy would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello Teresa. You are not all that far from me. I live in Dodgeville. Feel free to email me. I am pre-op. I am seeing a dr. in Madison. However there is one in Platteville and his waiting list and "hoops and bounds" are not as lengthy to get threw as the other drs in Madison. Good luck, Gala

If the Drs. you are talking about is Gould and Garren they are excellent Drs. I highly recommend them. They make you jump through hoops for your own safety..

I have heard very good things about Gould and Garren. I realize the hoops and bounds are for my saftey. However, it is bit more than just than the regular hoops and bounds. Right now I am more than frustrated with the clinical staff where I am going. To bad that the dr's themselves are wonderful cause it isn't them that will cause me to switch drs if things don't get rolling pretty soon.

Teresa: Welcome to AMOS. I had Dr. Rebchook in Platteville, WI. He does the surgerys at SW Health Center in Platteville, WI and I was very impressed with them. I had a revision to a failed VBG to the RNY in August 2003. It took me about 5 months from my first consult to my surgery date. I had several issues with the insurance company which delay the process. We have a support group that meets at the hospital in Platteville the last Thursday of every month at 6pm. (next meeting 4/29/04) This meeting is open to ANYONE so I encourage you to come and meet some people who have had the surgery and ones who are still working on the process. You can learn alot from the meetings. My VBG was done in the big city of Milwaukee years ago and I would rate the Platteville hospital and Dr. Rebchook much higher than the experience in Milwaukee. The smaller "town" feeling was great. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good luck. (PS I am down about 75#'s since surgery and feel great)

HI Vicky, Either my mind is slipping me or I just plain am stupid.. I don't remember seeing your name on her before. I have looked threw the page w/Dr. Rebchook's patients on here. I live in Dodgeville and work at the Mineral Point Bargain Nook -- great place for shrinking sizes that is for sure. My DH will be going threw Dr. R, -- I thought things were moving faster in the clinic in Madison however as it hasn't as I am afraid. I gave my dh my appts w/Dr. Miller. The rate I am going he will have a date before me or same time. The only reason I turned towards a different dr. in the first place is because I would prefer LAP vs Open. Then again at this point in time I don' think it matters to me much any more. My DH will most likely be at the next Platteville Meeting.. Gala
