Support group needed

I am looking for a support group in the Portage, WI area. If there isn't one in my area, I am wondering how many others are out there in my area looking too?? Maybe we could get one started.

I am in New London, thats close to Waupaca, and i go to Neenah for meetings. But it is a horse a piece, Stevens Point is just as close. Too bad there wasn't a meeting place on this side of the Valley.

Thanks for your response Tanya... You might be thinking of Portage County. Portage the city is 30 -35 miles north of Madison. Waupaca & Stevens Point is a 1 hour 15 minutes north of here. There is a support group on the far west side of Madison. That is about 1 hour 10 minutes south of here. SO I am stuck in the middle I guess.

What about Montello or Wautoma???Them are kinda in the middle of us. LOL Always trying to come up with a way to fix it. LOL

Hi Susan, I have not had surgery yet but I am having the lap band about the second week of May. I live in Sauk City, about 30 minutes from Madison. I have my doctor in Brookfield and the surgery will be done at Elmbrook Hospital. Madison will not do the lap band surgery. I will keep in touch and maybe we can find enough people by summer to meet somewhere and talk. Denise

Hi Susan- I am in Baraboo and I am also looking for a support group. I am willing to drive to Madison but I had my surgery done in LaCrosse and it is too far to drive to attend meetings. Maybe we can find enough people in the area to form a group? Kara

I would like to have a support group started around Sauk City because that is only 15 minutes from Baraboo and 35 minutes from Madison. I think one could be set up at the Sauk Prairie Hospital and that is just a suggestion. Denise

HI there! I live in Baraboo and am also looking for a support group. I have not had the surgery yet. I am still waiting on the insurance approval. I would love to try and start a group that is close. Jackie
