Is This Normal?

I called today, 2/12/04 for a consult with this Doc in IL. I have an appointment on 2/20/04. From what I have been reading on this site, people don't get consults this quickly. Is this normally how long it takes to get a consult?

Marie- In order to even see my surgeon, I had to call to get an informational packet, whi*****luded a two (or three) week dietary log. After I finished tracking EVERYTHING that went into my mouth, I mailed it to them. A week after they got it back, they called me for a consult. That was scheduled for the first opening, which was about a month and a half later. My surgeons were excellent, and everything was done with precision and skill. If your appt. is at the Wish Center, that's what they do. Nothing else. My surgeons do other general surgeries. If all they did was WLS, I probably could have gotten in sooner. Just be careful you're not going to a "butcher shop" who has a surgeon that's looking to perform 1500 of these procedures this year and is looking to get rich quick. Make sure that the proper screening is done, and that there is good follow-up care. This is a MAJOR operation that require a major lifestyle change. Good luck! Josh
