new to area

Hi All! I've moved to WI (Jefferson area) from MN. I'm looking for a support group to attend. Along those same lines I don't have any kind of medical follow-up since leaving MN. Suggestions would be most welcome. My surgery was 8-29-02. Thank-you for any and all help that is forthcoming. Linda

Hi, Linda, welcome to Wisconsin! I am still pre-op but wanted you to know that I am sure someone will have great support groups ideas for you on this board. I know Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee has great post-op care and could refer you to support groups. The number for the hospital is 414-805-3666. Take care and welcome, Rachel

Linda, They do have a support group at Meriter Hospital the first Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. I think this is a great support group. I had surgery through Dean and since have started to go to Meriter and love it. Much more information than I expected. Plus perks are they have some patients in the group that are out 2 yrs, and others waiting or had the surgery. For the last 3 meetings that I have been to Dr. Garren has also been at them all. Him and Dr. Gould at UW do surgeries together. If you want to talk sometime. Email me I am also looking for someone to buddy up with after the surgery.
