I just posted on the other message board and I thought I would try here. I'm 1 week post op and the 1/2cup you get each meal is not doing it for me. I haven't had the full feeling since my last meal last Monday. Even with the snack you get and the all you can drink water it ain't workin. Does one just toughen up or is there any hints anyone of you can give. I'd really appreciate it. The one consolation I have is I've lost 21lbs and the future is bright. Just need a little help. I don't regret the decision I made to have the surgery, but I guess I didn't realize that I wouldn't have the full feeling yet. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Hugs Barb J.

Hi Barb! It takes awhile for the mind to realize that "full" feeling you are talking about. Many times early on, people don't experience that full feeling or that "hunger" feeling right away. Are you feeling hunger pains at all (is that how you know you are not full??). Many recent post-ops will overeat because they don't know that full feeling, and many (including myself) become ill after eating too much. You realize that your pouch can only hold a few ounces right now, so I would go with that until your mind catches up with everything. You will soon be able to know when enough is enough, and when that next bite will just be too much for your pouch to hold. Stay with the rules of getting your protein in first before any other foods (protein will fill you up and last longer), no drinking with your meals or 1/2 hr. before or after meals (don't want to wash that food out of the pouch), and just be very aware of the way you are feeling when you eat (each meal should take 30-45 minutes). You will soon discover that feeling of fullness again! I hope that helps a bit!! Traci
