When to look for another surgeon?
I need some advice. Some of you may know that Dr. Armstrong has taken himself off the surgery rotation schedule.
Last month there were 6 people that were scheduled and now have to wait. Since he only does 3 surgeries a week, and who knows how many people have already been put on the waiting list, I'm not sure if I should look for another surgeon at this late date.
Dr. Armstrong's office has no clear indication when he's coming back to do surgery.
I know Dr. Armstrong is well noted for his follow up care. This is vital to me. What should I do?
They canceled my Oct 14 appointment. I called Dr Lesage in Racine at All Saint's and saw him 3 weeks ago. My surgery date is December 12th and my precert is done! He has you see the psychologist, the dietician and the pulmonary specialist for an at home pulse oximetry sleep study. Then sends the precert and then schedules the surgery. I know several people I work with had him do their surgery and successfully so.
I waited like 2 weeks after Armstong's office canceled before I called Lesage's office. I decided that by the time I got a call in January from Armstrong's office for the first appointment until they'd do surgery it could be March or April or later, and by then I could lose 50 or more pounds. So here I am with my surgery date 12/22/03! (Just got it today - so I am kind of excited)
Marie,
Try my surgeon. You'll love him. He is in Franklin and works out of St. Lukes.
Dr. Parmod Kumar is at Aurora in Franklin. He is an awesome surgeon.
He only does the open rny, but is excellent with every step of the way.
And his staff is the best!
Seems odd to me that a surgeon would cancel that frequently with his patients. Hmm...
Good luck to you!
