Milwaukee Support Groups

Does anyone out there know of any support groups in the Milwaukee Area. I am still postop but I would like to attend a group prior to my surgery. Froedtert hospital offers an excellent support group for WLS patients. It is held at the Wisconsin Athletic Club (in the rear) lower level on the last Monday of every month from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. There is usually a topic of discussion, a speaker, and also time for questions and support. I have been attending since I was pre-op in March and I just love it. At our last meeting was a man who had his surgery at a different hospital, so I know it is open to the public, not just Froedtert patients. Just remember, your hospital should have a follow-up program and perhaps even a support group. Many doctors programs in the area are different, and at the meeting, we discuss the way the surgeons at Froedtert want their patients to follow-up. So you may find the support helpful, but depending on your doctor, some information may be different. Traci (post-op 6-2-03)
