Blue Cross/Blue shield

Hello, one of the insurance options my employer offers is BCBS of Illinois. Has anyone ever had any experience with them? I am trying to figure out if they would be more inclined to support the surgery than Physician's Plus which I currently have. I would really, really appreciate any information. Thanks!!!!

A place to start would be to call them and ask them to fax/email/send you a list (so you have it in writing) of their coverages and exclusions. Just tell them you need this info to help make a decision on which plan to go with. Then take it from there.

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield that uses Anthem as its administrator. My husband's employer also funds their own insurance. Anthem (BCBS) has a list of requirments that you have to meet and submit documentation for in order for them to approve the surgery. I would suggest you call them and ask them what their requirments are. From what I have heard and read, most BCBS plans will approve it, providing you meet their criteria. Good luck.
