What is your favorite "a-ha" moment?
We are on a thread about the doctor that we are looking to have do our surgery. That is why we are on this site. We want to share about this particular person not any other site. There may be thousands of sites out there but this is the subject I am researching. My intent is to have others share with me as I learn the process and prepare for the upcoming surgery. I am not looking for rainbows and happy happy, I am looking for educated people to share with me and use this site for the purpose it was intended. But you are right Nic Alice, I can go somewhere else and I believe I will. This is not a professional site.
No, you want to hear ONLY what you WANT to hear. And that's not my problem. I hate hearing all the political crap on the internet, but I doubt it's going to stop any time soon, either. I don't go to political sites. That's how I deal with it. I don't care for *****graphy... so I don't go to porn sites. That's how the internet works. If there is a forum called, "Wisconsin" and the original poster ASKS for honest opinions about a doctor and I've GONE to that doctor and had a very, very unpleasant experience and I SHARE my experience... well, that's well within the terms of service of this site. If I wanted to start a thread every single day about my horrible experience, I could surely do that, as well. But I don't... because I don't care to spend all my time and energy dealing with it. BUT, I have the privilege to do it, if I really wanted to.
My name is Nic. Alice is a member of my support group and she knows what I went through. But I assumed that you'd think she and I were one and the same... and that's not my problem, either.
This site is for EVERYONE to share their experiences... not just the "positive" ones. My sharing about my unfortunate experience is just as valid as those sharing their positive ones.

Mine was when I pulled on the size 16 jeans that I had received for Christmas after having worn a 22-24 for years.
Congrats MT on your aha. That is a great one, hoping to add to this if I can get to the top of Brasstown Bald without keeling over in October.
Alice, as long as you feel you are doing a service to those that rely on you to do so, don't let the negative nelly that is trying to shoot you down get you riled up. Keep doing what you are doing, make the patients comfortable and glad that they have you on their side while they are putting themselves in the hands of a great surgeon.

This topic is about your post surgery A-Ha moments, Not Oh-No moments! We all have enough of the later. Yes it takes work to be positive, but humor is good medicine. And being positive is not denying anyone's pain. It does not minimize it. It is making a choice in how to handle your own pain. And I am speaking only for myself here. Life is short and none of us knows if we will even be here tomorrow. So, for today I look for a grin or even a snicker, I will take that too. Here is a small (very small) chuckle.
