any one have Dr Georgen take off excess skin and fat?

Dr Georgen did my WLS in 2006 and I would love to get a tummy tuck . I went to a seminar at a plastic surgeon and they want like $8,000 so I called Midwest Bariatrics and have an appointment next week to see Dr Georgen and see if the insurance will cover. I get rashes and split skin under my FAT. I fully trust Dr Georgen but would love to hear from aanyone that has had the tummy tuck.

I know this post is pretty old now, but I would ove to know what you found out about insurance coverage... I have Dr. Georgen as well, but have not had the surgery yet... still waiting on insurance approval.

I have badgercare with UHC as my HMO. I had a breast reduction approved last year and I will be needing a tummy tuck after the WLS. I used Dr Dieburg for my BR and he did a phenomenol job. He is with Bellin in GB and does TTs as well... I think the cost is between 4-6k for a TT

I saw Dr Georgen on Feb 6th, he submitted to my insurance but I have not heard anything yet, not sure if thats good or bad. He did a great job with my bypass and I like him very much. He is not a board cetified plastic surgeon but does do the TT but does not save the belly button. If I dont get approved then he said they would talk about out of pocket aand said it would be much cheaper than going to a plastic surgeon. I had UHC when I had my bypass and was approved within 6 weeks of submitting. Now I have ChampVA through my husband who is a 100% disable veteran. Good Luck and keep me posted, Deb

November 2011 Dr Georgen did my tummy tuck.. My private insurance paid a large portion of the surgery.. I had 2 and a half pds of skin removed and may abs tightened..He did a wonderful job.. I absolutely adore him! It was very very painful.. The worst ever! It was worth it! I have very flat tummy!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR REPLY , SAW HIM YESTERDAY FOR MY PRE OP. He said it would be more painful than the WLS. Im excited but scared, i to trust him totally. My surgery is next tuesday May 1st. Will let you know how it goes. He said I have 6 - 7 pounds of skin and fat.

He was right. It is going to hurt! He never said that to Me! He said .. It would feel like I did 1000 sit ups! Try more like 5000! It still hurts to sneeze! Anyways.. Good luck! And as we both know Dr Georgen is awesome!
