Thanks,...I actually bought the one you have on top...the colorful one! lol...would you mind sharing with me which vites and the doses that you take? I bought all of the vites on Vitalady's schedule, but Dr E is telling me not to take a lot of them after surgery...I am thinking maybe he is waiting for my first labs? Not sure...just confusing because you hear different from so many people. The vets say not to listen to the docs and dieticians... I believe I have a decent starting regimen, but it would be great to compare with what another person is taking! I do read all the posts on the DS board daily, but I have not been brave enough to post anything yet! so Thanks again for being so great. You make me feel comfortable asking questions.
~sorry just wanted to add...I realize that my own vites will be based on my labs and everyone is different! I just like to see what others' needs are! Thanks

According to my labs, I don't need to supplement iron or any B vites yet. That is pretty rare for a DS'er, but I have a feeling I will have to add it in at some point. I'm no vitamin expert, that's for sure, so if you have any other vitamin questions, don't hesitate to ask the DS forum. They sure do know their stuff.

Some of the best advice given to me on the DS forum was to just smile and nod when it comes to vitamin information from the surgeon's office and Nutritionist and to listen to the vets on this site. Sad to say, but it's true.

Great, thanks! That helps me A LOT...Dr E said he wants me to stop my iron after surgery but Im taking it now because I was low. He also said B12 now is fine, but not after. My biggets concern is A and D because I am being told we need 100,000 iu daily and that seems really high, but then again the vets know best right? I will just wait and see what my labs say. ugh 9 more day! ready to go!
Oh yea and he also said he doesnt want me taking any calcium???? did he say that to you pre-op? That confused me.

I can't believe your MD told you not to take any calcium.  I'm really shocked.  Check out http://wlsvitagarten.com.  And if you have any questions, I'm sure Andrea would answer them for you.  No calcium, I understand why you would be confused.

Congratulations. I see from your date that you have probably had your DS surgery by now. I am almost done with my pre-op appointments for a RNY with Dr. Engstrand and will then get my surgery date. After "lurking" on this board, I am now thinking about going with the DS. Have you had any complications and how was the experience with Dr. E? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
