6 years!!! My pants still don't fit! HOORAY!!!!

Today is 6 years since my surgery, so as my tradition continues, I put the pants on that I wore to the hospital, just to make sure they don't fit!  I can still easily stand in 1 leg!  It hardly seems like 6 years because this lifestyle has become so natural to me now.  I am enjoying my new life, new adventures, new friends, and great health!  I'm celebrating today with my other tradition of eating an egg on toast with a runny yolk dripping through my fingers! (For those who don't know me, yolks make me sick now, but it is truly the one thing I miss.) So, even though I know I will only be able to eat half of it, and I know I will get sick on it, I am having a decadent egg this morning!

Congradulations on your anniversary!  My 5 yr. anniversary was may 3rd and I am healthier and happier than I have ever been in my life!  That's saying a lot because I am 61 years old and have been overweight since childhood.  I've lost 140 lbs. and I am very active with grandchilldren, gardening, and horseback riding.  My surgens office tell me I am a great success with a bmi of 24.  It used to be 45!  Very funny thing: runny egg yolks USED to make me sick.  Now they don't!
Again, congradulations!  You deserve them.

Congratulations to both of you.  Your stories are very inspirational.  I am 8 days out from surgery and struggling just to get thru the pureed food 2 week stage.  No appetite at all.  I like the idea of keeping the pants that you came home from the hospital in just to remind you.  Congratulations again.

Congratulations--you deserve that decadent egg.  It shows that what my surgeon said prior to my surgery is true--you will be able to eat again but in smaller portions and you will be able to live without the things you thought you couldn't.  That comes along with the new relationship with food which manifests itself with a whole new life.

I came across some "big girl panties" while cleaning and I kept a pair of those along with my old jeans (the ones I wore AFTER I lost 50 pounds because I couldn't wear any zippered jeans prior to that point) and a blouse that I thought made me look slimmer (a 5X can make you look slimmer?)  I also have a pair of shorts that are 5X and when I tried them on, both legs in one, they fell right off my butt.  I could have had my husband join me in them and they would have fit.

Congrats on your success!!  With your attitude you will continue to be successful.
