Insurance a no go
So i recently when to the doctor and was refereed to the local hospital where all the stuff is done and they called me back saying my insurance doesnt cover anything on WLS and they say they cant fight it, is that true????? Now i dont know what to do?!?!?! Im going to contact my doctor and see if he can let me know what the estimate cost of the surgery would be for me. Or do you think i should apply for badger care and drop this insurance and hopefully get badger care so i can get this surgery??????

I'm so sorry to hear about your insurance doesn't cover WLS. From what I've read on here, some insurances don't cover. My only advice is call your surgeons office and ask them if they can help at all with finding out about Badgercare, etc. I have Humana insurance and I can tell you that they paid for the majority of my surgery but I still owe the doc office over $2,000 and the hospital almost $2,000 so even with my insurance there is still out of pocket expenses. I've heard from others that some doctors do the surgery and then include some free maintenance in there for the fills and such. You may want to ask about that.
Also, go to the main lapband board on here and throw the question out there, you may get more advice.
Good luck and don't give up!!!
