First of all i have a doc appointment Oct 6th to talk to my doctor about have surgery. About 5 year ago my doctor at the time wanted me to have it, but my dad's insurance didnt cover it and for some reason my dad didnt want to fight it so now at 23 im going back to talk to the doctor.

But the problem i might have is, i recently lose my job but i still have insurance thru my old job for about 6 more months or so and i highly doubt i will have surgery in that time frame so my question is does anyone know what i should do??? Should i drop this insurance and see if i can get Badger Care? or do you think the doctors would know anything about this??

If anyone could help that would be awesome!

Thanks

well I would find out what your insurance requires of you to get this one before you drop it. you could get it done if its not to many requirments. I started my process in may and I just got approved..I should be having sugery with in the next few weeks.

If your Ins has it written that they don't cover WLS or any complications from WLS then you are out of luck.  If I were you I would call my  or look in my Ins book for that info and see if they cover it, if they do then you need to find out what they all require of you.
I did self pay and with a BMI around 41 it cost 21k the cost goes up the higher your bmi.  Good luck to you.

Do you have any disabilities where you might be able to get on social security disability whether they are weight related or not. If you can get on ssi or ssdi if you worked long enough then maybe you would be able to get medical assistance. It can be a long process. My son is going through it now and it is taking forever before the bariatric services will even submit the insurance information so the only recourse I can see, is if you are disabled, then you may have a chance. Good luck to you.
