I have found so much information on here - it's overwhelming!!

I am looking for a surgeon in the Kenosha area...Anyone know of one?

It's easier for me to get to Kenosha than to  any of the surgeon's here in IL.

Thanks for any help!!

Hello and Welcome!  I'm up in the Green Bay area so I'm of no help.  Have you checked with your PCP (primary care provider) to see if they can refer you to someone.  That's what I had to do 1st anyway, see my PCP 1st.  She then referred me to the group who does it here in GB.

Good Luck!

Sorry no help there. I am in MIlwuakee. But Dr Thomas Chua is the best in Wisconsin. He works out of Aurora Sinai hospital. I had my surgery on July 28, 2009 and it went great. He is excellent surgeon.

I live in Kenosha, however, my doc was Dr. Chua in Milwaukee.  When I first started the process my PCP recommended him, then when I got married and changed PCP's I was also recommended to Dr. Chua.  With that said, I think there are a couple of surgeons in Kenosha, I do not know their names though.  Good luck!

Edited to add:

If you look under the search bar located at the top of the page is says "or browse" bariatric surgeons.  If you click on there, you can search by state.  Choose WI and then you can search them.  Not all are registered with OH, but they are listed in the unregistered section.  I found 3.

1.  Dr. Majed Jandali, Kenosha - 262-654-7002
2.  Dr. Timothy LeSage, Racine - 262-687-5800
3.  Dr. Steven Ryder, Racine - 262-687-5850

Hope that helps!

I had my surgery done in Brookfield at Elmbrook but that may be farther than you want to go.

Have you checked out Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry?  My mother had surgery (not RNY) and I saw materials on their bariatric program.

Also keep in mind that if you have a network, the surgeon needs to belong to it.  Additionally, you need to consider follow up, support groups, etc.

Best of luck to you.

I, too, am a 5+ year patient of Dr. Chua. I've gone to a couple other seminars of other Milwaukee doctors and had found BY FAR that Dr. Chua's program is much more in depth and prepares patients much better than the others.  He is definitely not the "treat 'em and street 'em" kind of doctor.  His goal is for patients to be prepared and knowledgable for their surgery so that we can enjoy a lifetime of success.  He (and I) were just on Channel 6. You can see him if you follow the link I posted on a different post of "If you missed Dr. Chua..."  He is a terrific person and the most caring person you'll find.
