I am 4.5 mos out. Went back to work 3 weeks post op because I felt good. Worked 1/2 day for the first three days because I thought I might get too tired. It was OK. I'm lucky that I can keep a tiny frig in my office so have access to shake and liquids all day. Was so busy when I went back that I forgot to eat some meals. Now have a schedule of supplements, shakes and meal times posted above my desk--but still play catchup most days.
I was hoping to be at goal in 6 mos but am a lightweight and have averaged 2# a week after the first week post-op. I gues I'll shoot for 8 mos to goal.
Going to knitting class tonight. Expecting a new grandbaby in February so am sharpening up my knitting skills to knit a baby blanket. Tonight is my second of two classes. I may tackle some more advanced classes this winter. I have designated one night a week to work on my project -- when my DH is not home--so I am not interrupted and can really concentrate.
My surgeon was also Dr. Chaing. I haven't figured out how to update that part of my profile or pics but I had my 1 year follow up with him last Thursday. I am now 1 year, 1 week and 2 days out from RNY. He presented me with DS also but because of the removal of the stomach and having a father in law that had to have his removed due to stomach cancer, I couldn't tell my family that I was doing that. The RNY provides me the restriction I need and down the road if I need a revision, I'll probably address it then.
Have you had your surgery yet?

I took 3 weeks off--I remember those early days. I was really tired after my RNY and I spent a lot of time in the bathroom early out.
I was on soft foods by the time I went back to work. I started out with the Lean Cuisines, etc. just eating the protein and leaving the pasta but eating the vegies and small amounts of fruit. After a while, I got into a better routine. Sometimes weekends are more difficult because of the lack of structure.
I probably could have used another week but I was starting to feel better and needed to get back into a routine again. I was exhausted that first week but it got easier as time went on.
Dr. Chaing was also my surgeon and on a scale of 1-10, he gets a 11.
