Hello guys.  I am looking for some serious advice please.  Although well wishes and prayers are GREATLY appreciated, I need some practicals to helpme. My surgery was June 2005.  I lost 160 lbs. In May of 2008, I broke my right foot. Now I used to walk vigorously 3-6 times a week every week. I also was going to an aerobics class.  All came to an abrupt halt with the foot deal.  I have since gained 40 lbs back.  I have begun the snacking, I can eat M&Ms all day, sugar does not bother me.  I am also in pain most of the time and I walk with a cane.  I am so frustrated about the scale.  I know when I hit 250 again, I was discouraged.  Then I hit 260 and 250 didnt seem so bad. Then I hit 270.  Then 280.  I am alarmed.  I have aggressively taken notice and am back down to 274.  ( My starting weight was 403 and my lowest was 241 lbs.) Please help me if you have been through this and have CONQUERED it and lost the excess weight  I have begun seeing a psychologist to deal with issues in my life that are unresolved, but I need to stop eating junk.  I also work 2 jobs and don't always have time to come home. I usually end up driving thru somewhere on my way to job 2.  Please advise me if you can.  I love you all, but please reply if you have been through what I am going through.  THanks@@@@@

Sorry to hear about your foot and the pain that doesn't go away.  t must be very hard.  As for some advise (and you can take it or leave it), here is my suggestion for you.  First of all, you need to remember that your surgery is only a tool and you are in charge of howwell it will work. So, with the snacking stuff... if it isn't in the house, you can't eat it, right?  Get the bad stuff out of the house now! Get back to basics of lean protein, eating regular meals and only 1 small snack in between them (I try for 100 calories or less, and there are a ton of things out there!)  Have snacks like sugar free pudding and Knox Blox around to snack on. They will also help you get fluids. When you think you need or want food, drink 8 oz of water or something non-calorie and wait 20 minutes. If you are still hungry, then try a small snack. Exercising doesn't have to be vigorous. Have you tried the public tv Sit and Be Fit program?  It's all about sitting in a chair, but the key is to move.  If you have Direct TV, see if you have a channel called FitTV.  It's all fitness and health all day.  Do what you can from a chair or the floor.  There are tons of things on there. I also keep 5 lb weights and exercise rubber bands next to my chair, so if I am watching tv, I can do random things with them as well and it doesn't feel like exercise.  Finally, if you get out anywhere, either alone or with someone, don't bring any money or any way of getting money along. That way you can't buy unnecessary snacks along the way.  I hope this helps you and doesn't sound preachy, but I really feel for you and hope you get back on track.  If you need any support, I have big shoulders and love new friends!  Take care!

Smooches!!!!!   Thank you so much for your reply.  It does help to hear some constructive advice from someone who understands.  I will definitely look for the channel and I have the rubber bands they gave me from Phys Therapy for my foot.  I can use that too.  I will also look for the low cal snacks and drink the water and wait.  These are all things I have NOT tried yet.  Thanks again.  Very much appreciated.  I will keep ya posted............

Hello, I know exactly how you are feeling as something similiar happened to me too.  I am still not on the upswing of losing all the weight I gained, but I am trying to learn what is going on in my head so I can get on track again.  I had gastric bypass about 5 years ago and because of some complications, I was left with a blood clot in my left leg.  I am on blood thinners for the rest of my life, I suspect.  I am under Doctor's care yet.  Anyway, I have managed to feel really sorry for myself and this led me to slide and eat very unhealthy foods.  I had some trauma in my life as my mother died recently and my sister was involved in a major motorcycle accident.  I let this get to me and make excuses why I could eat the way I have been.  Yes, you can take out the snacks in the house, but the car can drive you to the fast food places just as easy.  So I think you are in the right place by getting some help professionally with the troubles that are haunting you...I know I need to talk with someone too...you can't do it all by yourself.  I never got to really go full out and exercise as my leg hurts and is bigger than the other.  So I feel bad and what do I do?...I started to eat...the comfort of food!  Well, no more.  I found out there is a 5daypouchtest out there that can really help.  Just type in 5daypouchtest.com in the web address.  Try it...it will help, but we must tackle what is bothering us and move past it!  Hope this helps.  I know it helps me just to write to you.  I am fired up...hope you are too!  *HUGS*

HUGE HUGS TO ALL OF YOU!!!!   I already wrote romee a personal email on this, but after reading your posts I want to let you all know how you are not alone.  I don't mean this to sound bad but I am glad to know there are others out there who are not perfect and struggle with this post op too.  I did good right after surgery, but I to have had some set backs with tramas in my personal life and a spinal injury that required surgery and sent me into a whole new long downward spiral of eating pure trash and deep depression which I am currently struggling with.  I finally have insurance again and have come to the breaking point where I am either going to get help me to fix my head/heart and tackle the depression so I can better tackle the eating/excercise or what was the point?  So...  I am now trying to find ways to eat right and people to work out with.  I just need buddies to work out with and a jump of motivation.  (:  I wish you all luck and would love to chat or get to know you better or work out with you if you want.  Thanks!
