UHG Employee needs help with insurance approval

Hi I am new to this site. I am wondering if anyone out there works for United Health Group, have their insurance, and has received an approval for bariatric surgery? I believe there is a written exclusion in our handbook, but there has GOT to be a way around it.....has anyone been through this experience and can you give any helpful hints or suggestions?
