One surgery down, one to go ...Monday
Well, Friday's heart surgery went okay, I think. I haven't heard from the surgeon yet, except for the groggy moments after when he called. I vaguely remember the conversation. I think he said something about another surgery down the road to implant a monitor for 2 years. I don't know if I'm gonna do it. I have to get more details.
Monday, the 16th is my next surgery. I have a lumpy left ovary that's not liking me. It's more than doubled in size and not a cyst. They are fairly certain it's not cancer, but won't know till it's out. If all goes as expected, I'll be out same day and at home a week. The doc asked about my new belly button I have (since the skin removal). If surgery is lap, he may not be able to go through the belly button. My smart a$$ response was "I don't care if you have to go through my butt, just don't wreck my cute belly button!" He got a kick out of that.
Thanks to all of you keeping me in prayer and sending me messages! Luv ya all! Us beautiful folks gotta stick together!

Hi Lois,
Been reading your past posts and think you've been through enough already! I sure hope your next surgery goes smoothly. Sounds like you really have a great attitude and that's so inspiring. Also, I think I met you...my cousin Tony (t-Bone) brought me to a session and we all went out to dinner with Dr. C. I had the lap band done three weeks ago and am doing well. Tony has been a huge inspiration to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Hey Theresa! Thanks for the messaage. I'll be good as long as the drugs are too. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. Tony keeps us updated every month on you. He's a fantastic guy with a heart of gold. Keep in touch and let me know what's going on with you and how you're feeling! And, with everything in life, it's all about the attitude! Thanks!
Surgery went pretty well, I guess. I was out the same night and was feeling okay. Today is another story. I found out Tuesday that my cousin died Monday of a massive heart attack. This comes only after his brother was buried last June from a heart attack and then 30 days later a stroke. This friday I see the cardiologist for my results. It's been a whirlwind of emotions for me. To top it off, last night I started coughing and, in the middle of the night had to get up and spit out phlegm - bloody phlegm. I've been doing it again today, but haven't called the doctor yet. I'm going to wait until tomorrow. Maybe it is just because of the tube down my throat from surgery. Time will tell. Good news is that the doctor told me that we got the tumor out in time. If I would have waited to have my annual exam, and put off surgery, I would have been much worse. The tumor was beginning to fill with blood, and if that ruptured, I would have had a belly full of infection. Thank goodness for small miracles! Thanks everyone for the good wishes and prayers.
