My beautiful wife is ungoing her RNY surgery on Thursday with Dr. Wallace.  She wil be joining me as we journey through this life change together.  She is so excited to get the approval and surgery before the year is out.

I had my surgery on 11/25 and had my two week follow-up with Dr. Wallace yesterday.  I have lost 17lbs in two weeks.  Not too shabby!

I hope she has an uneventful post-op like I have had.  No issues what so ever.

My wife has made it through the surgery with no complications this morning and is resting comfortably in her room.

She is feeling good enough to worry about how her hair looks!  She really wanted to take rollers, a curling iron and blow dryer with her, but I talked her out of it.

Chris,

My wife came home on Saturday.  She was so ready to leave the hospital!

She is recovering nicely.  Still moving a bit slowly and seems to be having more pain than I had.  She is going though the potty phase where she is drinking so much water that her body is not used to it.  It will change over the next few days I am sure.

She is certainly being a good patient with her eating and measuring everything carefully just like I did.  She has taken her pain medication each night since she got home due to her back mainly and it helps her sleep.

I am trying to be as domestic as possible (washing dishes, clothes, etc) to allow her time to focus on herself.  In a week or two she will be back to her normal self I am sure.

Thanks for your kind words and I wish you good holidays as well.

What an accomplishment,

I had my surgery on Dec 3. in Stevens Point, it was done lap. I can't imagine both people in the house having this done so close together hope you to do well.  It sounds like you don't have as much pain/discomfort as I have.  I still have abdominal pain on my left side when I move.  No problem sitting, standing, or walking.  I am glad you are doing well, I go in on Friday for my two week appt.  The pureed foods are getting a little old, but I have two more weeks to go before soft foods.  Stay in touch very proud of both of you.  My wife had this done 5 years ago, so I watched her go through everything before I made my decision to go forward with surgery.
