Dear Musicman, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I work in Oshkosh. My husband is a native of Oshkosh. We live out in the country between Omro and Winneconne. My husband is a deer hunter too.

I am so happy that you are doing alright and are getting good care except that they gave you something with sugar. Did they forget why you were there? Yikes! I have my all day of pre-op tomorrow and had my pulmonary test today. I then go to the last session of the life skills class in Menasha that Chris Matulla runs. He is a great guy and I learned a lot. I guess I knew much of it, but it was a good reinforcer. There are 12 in my group, it was the biggest that he's had. It was good to listen to others. I also went to the support group in Neenah that meets once a month. There were only 5 WLS survivors there, but it was good.

You continue to do well yourself. Merry Christmas.

Hi Musicman:  I hope you are doing well following your surgery. In a post you made on 12/17/08 you indicated that MBS is one of the only Centers of Excellence in Wisconsin.  In fairness to all future bariatric patients, please be advised that there are 8 facilities in Wisconsin that are Centers of Excellence that involves 9 practices and 19 surgeons.  There are 367 facilities nationwide and 620 surgeons nationwide that have been awarded this accreditation.  If you would like information about Centers of Excellence, please go to www.surgicalreviewcorp.com and you can obtain all the necessary info you may need.  Thank you.

Dear Midwest Bariatric Patients:  You can only hope that you will see more Dr Georgian and less Kevin Wasco.  As some of you are aware, I have completed my seventh surgery since 2007 in an effort to clean up Kevin Wasco's mess.  On 10/23/08 we met with Quality Control Department and the VP of Medical Affairs at Theda Clark to bring this to their attention once again.  We had several requests, one was that some of these frivolous charges that were incurred while Kevin wasco just continued to do the same test over should be reversed and refunded to my insurance company.  Theda Clark agreed and did reverse some charges.  Our only other request was that we have the opportunity to sit across the table from Kevin Wasco and tell him what has happened since 2007 (whether he cares or not, he should hear it!).  The VP of Medical affairs agreed that is was a reasonable request in comparison for what we could be asking for, and stated that he would talk to Kevin Wasco about our request.  The VP of Medical Affairs stated that he would hope that "Intelligence would prevail" in this case.  Several weeks later we were notified by the VP of medical affairs that Kevin Wasco has "decided that he has devoted adequate time to this situation, and would like to deny our request".  So for all of you that are going to enter through the doors of Kevin Wasco's office or Midwest Bariatric Solutions remember to keep this in the back of your mind.  Most physicians I have shown that e-mail to are absolutely floored!  You  all need to know that if the situation gets tough, Kevin Wasco may decide he has devoted sufficient time to you!  How would you like that ofter you paid almost $20,000 in cash to the physician, and he was the physician who errored in the first place.  We have several other appointments this week with other personnel at Theda Clark who want to read and hear our story.  I want Kevin Wasco to see what he's done.  Why is he so afraid to look.  Perhaps his conscience cannot bear to look at or hear what he has done.  If any of you would like to read the e-mail from the VP of medical affairs, please let me know.  I will be happy to forward it to you if you provide me with an e-mail address.  Kevin Wasco also has a copy of that e-mail.  Once again, CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!!  Will you be the next patient he feels he has devoted ample time to when you are at worst physical health you could be in?  Remember, there are many bariatric clinics and many bariatric surgeons.  Closest isn't always the best.  It may be the easiest or the  most convenient, but it is not always the best.  I found that out the hard way and hope that none of you ever have to.

I'm I'm almost 2 full years out of RNY which was done by Dr. Wasco.  I love him!  I also had the abdominoplasty (sp?) about 8 weeks ago with Dr. Wasco again, as the surgeon.  Very happy with the results and would very highly recommend them to anyone!  There are always reasons why people have bad experiences, and sometimes it self inflicted, which people would never say, and sometimes it's not.  Take EVERY comment with a grain of salt and use your gut (pardon the pun) instincts... Good luck and have faith! :)
Peace out!

I had my tummy tuck November 29 th 2011...Dr Georgen... Since then I've lost another 15 pds.. And can fit into a size 4 in juniors... I love Dr Georgen! I'm so glad I found him ! There was comment made that having the surgery close by to where you live isn't always the best! Well I live 5 hrs round trip to Dr Georgens office..  If it was 10 hrs or longer I still would have chosen Dr Georgen!

In Wisconsin anyone considering bypass should pursue it through Midwest Bariatric Solutions. They are located within Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah and are a Center of Excellence for the Gold Standard of bypass surgery which is RNY. Dr.'s Georgan and Wasco are the best of the best, leaving not ONE detail out of the process. They have one of the most comprehensive pre-surgery preparation programs and their after-care programs is phenominal. Their continuum of care including: 12 appts for follow-up with a bariatric dietician, 12 appts with a bariatric exercise trainer, 24-hour contact with a live person, support groups, cooking classes - offeres more than any one hospital I've researched. It just goes on...they don't miss a beat! I had Dr. Wasco and he was awesome!
Peace out!
