UMR insurance coverage, and what to expect??
Does anyone know how picky UMR insurance is and what they really look at or what is all required?? Also what to expect at the psychological appointment?? I had read some others info that someone was didn't pass the psych eval as they stated they ate a lot and the doctor said they were a binge eater and had to get help with this first?? Doesn't most people over weight eat more then they should, the wrong foods, or not excercise?? But my most important question is what UMR (united medical resource, I believe) cover. I live in Green Bay, WI. I will be seeing Dr. Keemerling. Thank You!
Hi..
I also have / had UMR Insurance. I had a BMI of 42 and no other co-mordidites other then swollen ankles after a 12 hour shift and high colesterol. After the required 3 months of supervised Dieticians appts., psych exam and my visit with Dr. Chua they approved me in 72 hours and I had surgery 11 days later. Good Luck. I hope it goes as smoothly for you.

I had to do 6 months of supervise weight loss and the psych eval ect. and then I was good to go. The psych eval was fine, the guy I saw just asked a bunch of questions he knew the answers to but wanted to know if I knew as far as what the surgery consists of how I will be able to eat after, how is my family realtionships. it was no biggie.
