I was wondering if anyone has ideas for me.  I am 1 week post op from gbs and I am having a hard time getting hydrated.  I am also having a hard time getting in protein.  My biggest problem is that I feel like I need to be up 24/7 to get in everything.  I can only eat a few bites and I am full.  I tried the "tastless" protein powder added to eggs and pudding but that was NOT tastless.  I have also tried the "bullets" that have 42 g protein and they leave a nasty aftertaste to, I even tried mixing them with orange topicana sugarless drink and the after taste is horrible. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks much

Nectar protein powder mixed with flavored water ( I like Roundy's brand flavored water) Is very tasty. There are also lot's of chocolate ones out there if you mix them with Soy chocolate milk or skim white milk they're pretty tasty. I would talk with your dietican and ask for some samples and some ideas. Good luck. Try to sip water all day long. If you don't like the taste of it get flaovered non carbonated water. Like I said Roundy's brand has some great flavors.

Keep us posted.

Somebody told me about Achieve One ready made protein drinks and I'm totally addicted. The BEST!!!!!   Cappacuino, Mocha, Java. Very nummy and 20 grams of protein. Really convienent too. The problem is hard to get. They have to be ordered online through ibariatric or bariatriceating.com I'm sure other websites have them to but they're not sold in stores. Good Luck. Are you doing o.k? Have you tried egg beaters with cheese and chives? Try them with some salsa. VERY tasty.
Update us soon.

Thank you for the good ideas!!!!!!!!! I haven't tried the egg beaters or the other drinks but I think that I might.  I am doing a little better.  Every day seems to get easier .  I can't wait until I get used to this.  My husband has been my shoulder to lean on through all of this but he feels so helpless because there is nothing he can do to "make me better".  I am just going to keep taking it day by day.

Happy tp help. Glad to hear you're doing better. A chocolate whey protein powder I like is Designer Whey. I buy it at Target in a big tub. It's pretty good mixed with milk. I also have made it in a blender with ice cubes, 1 cup of chocolate milk, a scoop of peanut butter and half a banana. It tastes like a chocolate, peanut butter cup shake.

Hope you do well with your weight loss. Your BMI is on your bio as only 40. Sounds like you had the surgery at a good time. Same with me. Mine was 42 with only a few co-morbidities. We're very lucy to have had this before we got any bigger and any unhealthier.

Post a picture and again good luck.

If you aren't crazy about the taste of the chocolate or vanilla protein shakes by themselves, try adding some soy milk in either flavor. It has more protein than regular milk and is a bit sweeter. I love the chocolate silk mixed with the 50 gram slam from GNC. I do one of those a week, just to keep me up to snuff.
