I am 23 years old and weigh 480 pounds.  I only have Medicaid for insurance and I am on disability due to the fact that I had a brain tumor in fourth grade.  I have been dealing with weight my entire life, and now it's getting to the point to where it's getting hard for me to move and I get exhausted just doing little things.  Even walking around the grocery store gets me tired.  I am really scared and want to know what to do.  Please help me.

Most Bariatric programs accept Medicaid. Talk to your primary care doctor and he / she can refer you to a bariatric doctor in your area.  Good Luck.
Let us know how things turn out for you.

I don't know what insurance they accept but Midwest bariatrics in Neenah is great and helpful.   I hit 377 so I know the getting exhausted feeling even when doing the smallest things.  If you need a ear I'm here.

I agree.  Medicaid should cover surgery.  Do research on line.  I know the program at Theda Clark takes Medicaid/MA/BadgerCare.  Call the program and they have staff specifically trained to help you with the insurance.  This site has tons of great info.  You can cruise the other boards to help decide if you want to have suregery and which one is best for you.  Also, attend the free WLS seminars.  You can get a lot of info and support there.  Good luck.  BTW, I am from Waupaca/WildRose, Too!  My famiily is still there and I go up every couple of weeks to visit!!  Take care!!
