Is there anyone reading this that is a patient with the Lapband surgery and with Dr. Gould or Dr. Garren that could give me some feedback?

I am looking to switch programs and would be a self pay patient for the most part.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Stacey,
I started out with the UW program. The doctors and staff are very friendly. They have monthly support group meetings. Your first step would be to call to get signed up for a seminar. You can get information on the program at uwhealth.com. Click on the services tab, then on the bariatric surgery tab. There, you'll find links to their surgery support message board and an email address to contact someone about getting started in the program.

I found the program to be extremely thorough. However, while doing research, I learned about the DS surgery and decided to have that instead of the RNY. Since the DS surgery isn't performed at UW Health, I switched to a different program. My decision to switch had nothing to do with the quality of care I was receiving at UW Health. I would highly recommend attending a seminar and a support group meeting. Good Luck!!

I had surgery with Dr. Garren. I have found the program to be amazingly thorough! As i have listened to others on this board, I have been amazed at how much info we got and how little others seem to get. I felt the staff and the hospital (Meriter) were marvelous. I have only good things to say about the program. I am also in health care and am very fussy about getting good care.
