Some time ago I asked the Pick N Save in Saukville to carry Fage, Oikos, or some brand of Grek Yogurt.  While shopping there yesterday, I noticed they had Fage in the little containers: 0%, Honey and...2% I think.

Is it good yogurt? I'll have to see if my Pick N Save carries it. Do you recommend it? Woodmans or Sendiks in my area may also have it.

I'm a yogurt lover and always looking for new ones to try. I really enjoy the Fiber One yogurt. My favorite flavor is Key Lime Pie. Desert quality : )

Well, that depends.  Fage, especially the fat free, is almost a perfect food.  A one cup serving is 120 calories, 20g protein.  BUT, it is "plain" and so has that sour yogurt tang.  This is largely due to the fact that is has no flavors, fillers, modified food starch, etc.  The only ingredients are Skim Milk and yogurt cultures.

I enjoy mine with some fruit and Splenda.  You can also add jam or something if you like.  In terms of protein for calories (plus calcium) in a soft and easily tolerated food, you'd be part presssed to find something better.

How else could you use this yogurt (i.e., if you are on pureed food).

Any ideas?  I did see Fage at Pick N Save in Oconomowoc Pabst Farms

Hmm, after smoothies and just plain (with Splenda), I had to think  for a minute.

MIddle Eastern cuisine has several variations on Yogurt Soup.  These are usually chilled and all run thru the food processor.  Consider this:

Chilled Cucumber Soup
1 large seedless cucumber, peeled
1/3 cup Fage
1 Tbsp dried Dill
1 clove Garlic
Salt and Pepper

That's a rough recipe more or less "to taste"  I've seen a few chilled soups in my magazines (Cooking Light, Eating Well, Vegetarian Times)  lately or just Google "Yogurt Soup"

Woodman's carries the Fage and Oikos in Rockford. I think they are all stocked the same. These have twice as much protein for the calories as yoplait.
