Gastric Bypass v. DS

I am nearly approved for Gastric Bypass, but I've been wondering if I should put more consideration into Biliopancreatic Diversion. Has anyone here had that surgery? What has been your experience with it? I've read that it's much more effective, but also much more risky. I do want to have children down the road, so that does factor into my decision process. Plus...the waiting is killing me. The process has been so long, and I'm nearly there. I don't want to start all over by choosing a different surgery and surgeon. However... if it will be better for me in the long run... Any suggestions?

I am sorry I don't have information for you, but I know that you can find a wealth of facts here on the RnY and DS  boards.  Some people are "very vocal" about their surgery choice, as you may have already seen!  I first applied for RnY and then changed to Lapband... and my insurance was pretty good about the change. I just needed to put it writing... the reasons for my wanting a different surgery. It was in 2002, however, and I think insurance companies may be more strict now, for lack of a better word.
