How lo9ng did it take...

for your surgeons office to get in touch with you after having your info sent there? I was told 2 weeks ago that it was sent off , but i have yet to get a call from them letting me know wat the next steps are. the info was supposedly sent to Dr. Chua's office. Anyone?

Call them. Don't be afraid to make a pest of yourself. Don't let it sit on the back burner or on a pile on someones desk. They may not have it.. which means you need to call and get on someone else's butt.  If you want it.. fight for it. I can't tell you how many phone calls I made to my current PCP, surgeon, insurance company, former doctors and specialists.   But to answer your question, all of my former doctors and specialists had the information to my surgeon within days of the request. The surgeons office had my insurance sent off in approximately 3 weeks. They had to draft a letter to insurance.  I only knew it took 3 weeks because I called them and they said it wasn't sent yet. Guess what? The next day it was sent out.

Hi..    After my psych eval was complete, 3 months of dietician's appts. were complete my case was presented at round table discussion with Dr. Chua and his team. The paperwork is then sent off to Chua's office. I heard within 10 days that they would accept me as a pre-op and they made an appt. with me to meet Dr. Chua. If you have not heard from his office call them. I called on day 9 and on day 10 they called me back and set up the next step. After meeting Chua my paperwork was submitted to my Insurance and I was approved in 72 hours for surgery. My surgery was 10 days later.  It will all move pretty fast now. Waiting is the hardest part. Well, I was going to call today to see what was going on. Someone must be watching these bards because I got a call on my way to work this morning scheduling my consult!
