Hello, I am new to the website.  I went to an informational seminar about a month ago in Neenah.  I haven't called for an appointment.  I have not decided which surgery I want.  Does any one out there have any recommendations for me? Any surgeon recommendations?  Lap band or RNY?  Decisions, Decisions, Please help!

Welcome!  I don't have any recommendations for you except research research!  This is an excellent sight to find out about peoples personal experiences! Best of luck on your journey!

Welcome!  I couldn't agree more with the previous reply.  Do Your Homework and RESEARCH.  If I had done that I wouldn't have just finished my seventh day of testing now at a facility in the area.  This is the seventh day since 1/1/2008.  I had many previous tests before that!  You said you went to a seminar in Neenah - I did that once too!  Let me guess -  they told you how helpful they are, and that they're always available for you and that they stand behind their work, right?  Well, just make sure you don't ever get sick after 5 PM or on the weekends; make sure you don'tcall their office and "bother" them with your silly concerns such as excessive vomiting, severe pain or anything of the such.  There are other clinics in this area such as Green Bay, Madison and Milwaukee, all of which have very reputable surgeons.  And before I forget - if you go go to the Neenah clinic, make sure you NEVER present yourself in Emergency.  They really take offense to this.  If they offer you Dr Kevin Wasco - RUN, don't walk to another clinic.  Please contact me if you'd like to read my medical records as written by Kevin Wasco.  I'd be happy to share every detail with you with the supporting evidence to back my claim.  It is not only my right, but it is my obligation to the public to get this message out.

Welcome to the site. I have Dr. Georgen and I really like him and their office has been nothing but helpful to me so far. We are working on my appeal right now with my insurance and they have been great with that. As for having surgery with them, I am not sure as I have not gotten approved yet but in helping with all the paperwork they have been very helpful and very good to me. My friend had Dr. Georgen and she really liked him and did a wonderful job with her surgery. She is the one who told me about  Dr. Georgen. Like a lot of people have stated though make sure you do your research and do a consultation with the doctor first to make sure you like how they work as each doctor and each person is different.  Again welcome to the website and I wish you the best in journey to weight loss.

I am new too so I don't have a lot to offer.  I decided to go with the RNY instead of lap band because of the way I eat.  RNY seemed to make more sense for me and my insurance company still considers lap band experimental.

I am still in the process of going through all the prelim testing and probably won't have a surgery date until later this year.

Good luck! Good luck!

I had a RNY by Doctor Wasco.  I have had no issues with the surgery or the clinic/staff.  Everytime I call about something I get a call back telling me my answers.  Make sure you choose the surgery that is best for you.

If you live locally they have been showing Dr Wasco and Dr Greorgen on the Channel 5 News.10pm  They are following a case.  Tonight they will show the man after 2months post surgery.
