I am having my surgery on Jan. 2 and am so nervous and excited that I can't think. Does anyone have any words of wisdom about after the surgery or even what to pack for the hospital. It feels like my brain just went into overtime.   Any suggestions are appreciated.

First of all, Congratulation! Your going to be a Big Loser like the rest of us!  Second, try not to think about it too much. The basics are all you need to bring: Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, lip gloss or something for dry lips, lotion, slippers (although Sinai gave me the non-slip socks) maybe a magazine or 2.  You won't be there long, and I was up and walking the halls a couple hours after surgery. Bring a pair of sweatpants or something like that with a loose waistband, and a shirt that doesn't slip over your head. The stretching can sometimes be uncomfortable. Slipon shoes or slippers to leave in and you're set!  Make sure you follow directions about how many hours to fast before surgery, and don't be rushed that morning. Have your stuff packed and by the door. Allow yourself time to relax (as much as possible). At the hospital, when they prep you they give you something to relax you as well.  Smile at everyone, because that will be the last time they see you at that weight!  OH YEAH! I almost forgot!  Do you have a full picture of yourself?  Take one so you can always look back and see how far you've come!  I'd wish you good luck, but I know you'll be fabulous!!!  Happy New Year and Happy New Thinner You!!!
