WI-Medical Assistance - Network HMO- (HELP!)
I have WI Medical Assistance / Network HMO. I called the insurance company this morning to ask about coverage for bariatric surgeries and they said they cover the surgery if deemed "medically necessary." Great!! I think I would have a good chance at qualifying because of my various health issues. The problem? The only Network Plan surgeon that I know of around here (Dr Kemmerling in Green Bay) is no longer accepting Medical Assistance patients.
Does ANYONE know of a surgeon in the Northeast WI area that accepts Medical Assistance - Network HMO?
Besides my own health related issues, my mother just died 2 weeks ago at the age of 58 from coronary artery disease/high blood pressure/high cholesterol, etc. which her cardiologist said is an hereditary condition. It has really sparked me into considering bariatric surgery to help control my weight issue (My BMI is 39.6). Besides those, I have a number of identifiable risk factors that may help me qualify for surgery. Now I just need a surgeon.
Please help!
