Revison Surgery Concerns/Questions
Hi from on Cathy to another!!!
I wish you luck on your revision and figuring out what will work for you. I know you will have to research your choices and do what works best for you.
I have the VSG and love love love it. But I have nothing to compare it to. I can eat what I want. I have never thrown up. I have felt a little sicky feeling a couple of times on eggs. So I stay away from them for now. I stick mostly with protein for now and will add more when I am closer to goal or a nice weight for me. A plus to the VSG is there are no mal-absorbtions problems. So the nutrients you take in you keep. I do still take a few extra b-vitamins and D though as I heard the part of our stomach that is removed absorbs this vitamins. I am really happy with the quantity of food I get to eat now...but it took some time to adjust the eyes to what the tummy can handle. Another plus is the part of the stomach they remove has the hormone greglin(SP) there. Most of that hormone is removed. It is the hormone that signals that your hungry. Since surgery I have yet to have a real hunger pain. Come to the VSG board and ask your questions and you will get alot of info there if you want to look into it.
All my best to you!
Cathy
I have had the lap band for 4 years. I was too tight from the beginning, meaning I never was able to get a fill. I have to have it removed because it has left major ulcers all the way up & down.
I personally was told by 2 docs to get the VSG. I would never get the RYN. I love all the pluses with the VSG as bandycat stated. I feel this will be a much better fit for me.
Best of luck with your wls journey!
