OT:Altoona WI directions from Chicago?
Hello Wisconsin! I have a question or two. My hubby just bought a motorcycle off Ebay. Its in Altoona WI. He's driving up Sat morning from Elizabethtown Ky. He knows where Chicago is from here (he used to be a truck driver years ago) but he's not sure how much farther Altoona is over the WI border. We've been just over the border before but its been a long time. Can anyone tell me how far it is from Chicago to Altoona? Its about 6 hours from here to Chicago.
Thanks
Ange R
He just called, about 45 mins ago he crossed into WI from ILL. I'm glad Eau Claire isn't big. He was told to get off the first exit for Eau Claire and then go north about a mile to Walmart and that there was a few hotels there. I believe the man he bought the bike from is bringing it to the hotel in the am. I miss him lol. I didn't think I would so badly. He works nights so its not like I'm not used to him being gone. He left Etown about 3pm and I cried like a baby. He's such a stubborn old fart sometimes but he's mine and I miss him. I can't wait to see him tomorrow night. I've told him to drive safely loads of times lol. I always worry about him or the kids when they go some where I'm not. I know I'm silly.
What a small world! He did. He got up there and was told to get off the first Eau Claire exit, go north to Walmart and that there was several hotels there. He got there at 5am and all the hotels were full. He slept in his little GMC Sonoma for a few hours, he and his dad lol. They were beat. They got home Sat night about 12:30am. He worked Thurs night and slept about 3 hours before heading up Friday. He was exhausted. He loves his bike though and says it was well worth it. His dad however says if he buys anything else that far away he's on his own. I would have loved the ride but didn't want to bring our 5 yr old. I don't think she would have done well all those hours on the road and I would have been mad about not finding a room. I would have been back on the interstate looking for some sort of hotel up the road. I have to have sleep! I'm such a big baby! The guy he bought it from was really sweet. Adam said he was great guy.
