Thanks Pam and Malia for the well wishes! I'm looking forward to my surgery but have my doubts that I can actually succeed at this as I have failed all diets before this. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way pre-op. And I've been tearing up when I hold and cuddle with my kids- thinking about what would happen if there was a complication.... I know, slim chance that anything bad would happen... I just want to get through this part and start my new life!!!

Joelle - Wanted to pop in and wish you well. Your fears before surgery really are completely normal. I had researched so much and for so long I thought I was prepared for anything - but I got quite nervous a few days before surgery! Hang in there! I also worried this wouldn't work for me - but I'm not down 40 pounds since I started my pre-op liquid diet June 1st so I guess it IS working! Best of luck to you!

Kelly Jo- 40 pounds?!! That's incredible!!   Good work! Has the liquid diet post op been difficult- I know some people get very bored or find it difficult to get in what they need. You are doing a fantastic job- keep me updated!

Thanks Joelle! I did the liquid diet for 11 days prior to surgery (lost 20 pounds!) and for 2 weeks after. It wasn't until the last 3 or 4 days on it that I got antsy and bored with it. To compensate for my boring diet, I've managed to become ADDICTED to food porn (AKA The Food Network!!) I'm told this is normal and I should lose my appreciation for food porn in a month or two - LOL!

Good luck with your surgery.  Everything will go fine.  Soon you will be doing the "dressing room happy dance".  take care, Linda

Linda- I can't wait to do the dressing room happy dance !! And Kelly Jo- FOOD PORN ?! That is like the funniest thing I've heard in a while! OMG- I am always addicted to food porn when I'm dieting (just never called it THAT!) In fact, last night, around midnight, I watched "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" on the Food Network. I don't even like chicken wings but that's what the episode was about and I caught myself drooling! Oh well, there are worse forms of 'porn' one could be addicted to- I think that's a pretty safe one! At least that is acceptable to be on mainstream TV and we don't have to rent it in the back room of some video store!
