since I returned home from surgery.  I came home Thursday night around 5pm.  I felt absolutely great in the hospital and walked like crazy.  I felt so much better walking than sitting or laying.  The gas buildup in between my shoulder blades drove me nuts.   I did a really stupid thing on Friday night without thinking.  I was getting into bed and got my legs up and then laid straight back.  OMG!  I thought I was going to die.  I haven't felt as good since.  I think I pulled a muscle on the left side or something.  I had open surgery, so I know it's not just that they used a larger tool on that side.  Walking was great before, now it hurts with a pain there.   Other than that, I'm doing really well, I haven't taken a pain med since bedtime last night.  Could be why I'm not feeling as well too I suppose.   I'm up to eating 1/2 oz for my meals and still trying to get in all my fluid, but I know that will come with time.   Thanks for the prayers and thoughts send up for me.  They were heard and appreciated.

PAM! SO GLAD YOU'RE HOME!! Sounds like you are doing great! Did you know you were going to have it done open when you went in? I'm praying that they will be able to do mine lap as planned- but sometimes thing change during surgery. Take care of your tummy and let yourself heal.... you're on your way! Joelle

Hey Joelle,  I did know they were going to do it open.  My surgeon first of all prefers to do it open as he can check everything out in there.  I'm short as well and it's easier to do open on short people, less chance of complications with the open procedure.  I know there was a lady in that had surgery on the same day as I did, but had laproscopic, she had a complication and apparently there was something twisted.   Take care!

Pam - So glad to hear you are home and healing! Don't give up the pain meds too soon - they will help with the pain while walking too. I hope everyday you feel a little bit better!
