Dr. Prewitts office -- any one else having this problem??
I have been waiting almost 3 weeks now for my surgeons office to do a pre-certification for my consultation, I have been checking in with the doctors office every week to see if they heard anything, and I keep getting a no, which is odd because the insurance company says all they have to do is call to get the certification since they do not require pre-authorization for consultations. Well I just called the insurance company again and they said no one has called and nothing has been submitted at all and the only person that has contacted them is me! This is so frustrating!
I am just sick of calling this office, and I know this woman is getting irritated with me calling but I do not know what else to do but to keep calling. Any one have any advice on what to do with out being a pain in the neck??? Has any one else had this problem with Dr. Prewitts office???

I just wanted to let you know that I have Dr Prewitt as my surgeon and I never had problems. They did all the leg work for me.
I am sorry you had a crappy experience, maybe there is someone new? But it seems like the nagging paid off, congrats!!

I had this problem. Call Dr. Prewitt. Ask to talk to him. Tell him who is causing a problem for you. He is really a wonderful surgeon and Community Hospital was great. He does his own follow ups and Ellen his nurse is wonderful. Dr. Prewitt is well educated, lots of experience and really tries to help his patients. He believes in what he is doing. He is motivated and not worn out like some other surgeons that are older.
I might have already responded to you on another page. I wrote to him (because I never had a doctor answer the phone before him) and he contacted the insurance co. good luck, Linda
