QOTD: Has Anyone Here Had Their Surgery Performed Far Far Away???

That is good to know, I guess each doctor is different. Some say they have had it, some haven't. I hope whenever it's my turn that I don't have to have it..lol. I'm in Waukesha, how about you?

Right now I would love to either go to the doctor you referred, Dr. Joya, or the doctors at www.obesitygoodbye.com, but I just don't have the funds. I have tried loans, but it looks like the new car we got in Feb. might be prohibited anyone from giving us a loan this soon . I'm just trying to keep the faith. Getting discouraged. My doctor says he thinks its something I really need, but since it's my husbands office and not the actual insurance company that has excluded any obesity related procedures, there isn't anything we can do right now.

Hi Cathy - According to my surgeon, I will come out of surgery with an NG tube (naso-gastric tube -- sp?). It is a tube that is in the stomach and exits the nose and helps drain the new tummy. My surgeon usually takes it out the day after surgery. Not every surgeon uses the NG tube, so it would be a question to ask your surgeon. The NG tube was freaking me out for a long time, this week I'm freaking out about the IV - next week I'll probably be freaking out about something else - lol!

I had my surgery in another state. I, too, am from Wisconsin. I went to San Antonio, Texas and had my Lap Band Procedure done by Dr. Jorge Rincon. He is just awesome!! He is so caring and always there for all questions and concerns. He does offer financing, too, if you want to check that out. That's how I was able to get my Lap Band because my insurance absolutely refused to pay for the weight loss surgery even thought I was on the verge of a stroke or heart attack.
