Milwaukee Support

Hello everyone... I certainly hope you enjoyed your Sunday! I was just wondering if anyone knows of a support group in or near Milwaukee? I am now 9 days out and think that it woukd be awesome to be involved in one. Any info would certainly be appreciated Thanks and Hugzzz~~~ Nani

Hi Nani, we have a support group in Madison the second monday of every month which is today. The group has a general topic from 7 till about 8 and then we have break out groups which are either lap-banders or full bypass. I have found a lot of information on the messageboards too. I had my lap band surgery on 4/20/07. Rose

HI, I came here looking for support also. I am in West Allis, by the State Fair Park. I went to Mexico on the 9th for a VSG. I know the bariatric center has support groups at Elm Brook, but i don't know if you can go if you didn't have surgery there. Maybe we could help each other a bit. Now that my surgery is actually done, i have little idea what to do Hope to talk to you soon, Amy

Columbia St. Marys Hospital in Milwaukee has a great support group ansd anyone can come to the meetings. My doctor is Dr. Joseph Regan and you can access his information as well as ColStMary by finding him on this site. The campus is right by UWM. Hope to see you there!!!!! Nani, there is a Milwaukee area WLS support group that meets every last Saturday of the month in Brookfield. It is open to anyone, preop or postop, not restricted by surgeon or hospital affiliation or type of WLS. We also meet for dinner once a month on the 2nd Mon of the month at a restaurant (varies each month) for fun and socializing. there is a support group that meets at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center near downtown as part of Dr. Chua's bariatric clinic.
