Had my surgeon consult today....

He wants to schedule my surgery for 6 weeks. *gulp* I thought it had to go through insurance for approval after he okay'd me and it was already given prior authorization by HealthPartners when I started this. OMG!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe in a month and a half....I'm going to be a LOSER! Well, I have to actually start to be a loser before surgery. I gained about 20 lbs when I quit smoking and he wants me down 15-20 lbs by the surgery date. Doing an Atkins diet. I think I'm in shock more than anything.....I had figured it would be until middle of July. Dreams do come true! Thanks for all your support here!

That is great Pamela, you will be able to get those 15-20 pounds off by surgery. I had my lap-band on April 20th. I started my liquid diet on the 6th and as of today I am down 23 pounds. Hang in there, 6 weeks will fly by. Rose M.

Hi Pam, I too have Health Partners...I need to see a surgeon yet but I phone the insurance co. and they said all they need is the prior authorization from the surgeon. My insurance changes tho as of this coming Jan...not sure what'll be...did Health Partners cover any visits after your surgery? I am so "green" on this board that any info will be a great help.  Ann
