Choosing a program/doctor
Hi Jennifer,
My ins co did require a supervised weight loss program- they said 6 months is usually sufficient but they had me do 8 months because I didn't show enough effort in their opinion in the first 6 months! (In the insurance info it said 'failed' supervised weight loss program so I made an effort to fail ). I think most ins co do require it but if yours doesn't- that make it easier for you.... because for me, having to do the 8 months took the longest as far as jumping through all the hoops to meet their requirements. Good luck!
Hey Jennifer! Welcome to the WI OH Board! Good to have you!
Just wanted to say that my insurance didn't require a six month supervised diet.
I have HealthPartners....here is what I have had to do thus far:
Some for the surgeon I'm having it through...it's a good program.
Informational meeting
Meet with Nurse
Psych appointments (4) (be okay'd by her)
One of which did the MMPI and another test
Attempt to quick smoking (I'm quit)
Meet with a dietician (be okay'd by her)
Have Surgeon and nurse consult (mine is tomorrow)
Be approved by insurance
and schedule the surgery.
I wish you lot of luck on your journey!
Pam
