Hi Everyone, My name is Shelly Sturm and I live in Freedom WI, I have had lap RNY surgery on 1/30/07. I am three months out and have lost 53 pounds and am loving it. I have three wonderful kids (well most of the time) One daughter that is 17 who is at her Junior prom tonight - two sons one that is 7 and one that is almost 5. They keep me busy. I love to golf, scrapbook, camp, play darts, play volleyball, play with my kids, snowmobile, read, fish, bike ride but that was getting difficult last year with my weight so I am excited to get back out there and do that this summer. I have a VERY supportive and loving husband that still loves me after seeing me at my worst HEE-HEE. I work in Green Bay at an insurance company. I love reading these forums but I don't have enough time to visit as much as I would like. Great advice in these sites !! I had the surgery in Neenah with Dr Wasco. Wonderful support staff and monthly support meetings. Great program !! Well that is all I can think of right now

Hi there Lori, I am Cathy from Boscobel. Small town in the SW corner of the state. I have had surgery already. I had it on Feb 19 and went to Mexico-Puerto Vallarta. I went there because I am a self pay. Our insurance will not pay for any kind of WLS and I have waited five yrs to see if it would change.I had a VSG(Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy). That surgery is where they vertically cut, in my case, 80% of my stomach out and remove it. I chose this surgery because I did not want my intestines changed or absortion problems.(I am not knocking anyone elses surgery...just wanted you to know why I picked this one ). Since surgery I have lost 66lbs. I started at 390 and am down to 324. I am so happy with my surgery and to have lost this much. I am hoping to continue the dive downward in weight and very excited about this. I am married for 23 yrs to a wonderful man. We have three children..two sons that are 9 and 6 and a little girl about to turn two this month. I am 41 and a stay at home mom. That is me! Hugs and gl to everyone on there journey! Cathy
