Wish I could help you Kelly. Is there a worker you could talk to and find out what you need for approval? Worth a try! Pam

Hi Kelly! I have MA (BadgerCare- HMO is CompCare) and was just approved on 4/5/07 for RNY gastric bypass. I am with the program at St.Mary's Duluth Clinic in Duluth, MN- and they did everything for me as far as approval, etc. The day after they (SMDC) submitted for approval to my insurance, I was contacted by a lady at CompCare and was approved that day as well (less than 24 hours). I know the insurance requires you to see a dietician once a month for 6 months. They also require an EKG, Chest X-ray, and H Pylori test before they will review your case. These are considered the pre-op exams, but they must be completed before submitting for approval. You also have to have the psychological exam to go along with your info. I also saw the surgeon prior to approval submission. Any specific assistance you are seeking? I'll try to help, but like I said, SMDC did most of the work for me.
