Not only has my insurance approved on Friday but I was called today to set a date for my surgery. I am scheduled for April 19 at 9am at Aurora Sinai in Milwaukee with Dr. Chua. I could have done it as soon as next week however I have a few things to take care of before I have the surgery. But regardless I am so excited and very ready. Wish me luck and if anyone has words of wisdom either in general or about Sinai and Dr. Chua, I would appreciate it all. New me here I come!!

Congrats, I am getting started but not having any problems with Insurance, just need to get me ready. I am very happy for you and with your postive attitude I am sure you will do great. I would like to get know some people that are just getting started with the surgery. Did you have to do the two week with the liquid diet?

I just want to say congratulations. I had surgery on 10/3/06 and I am thrilled. I am not losing as fast as many but my diabetes is under control and I feel great. I had Dr. Prewitt at Community Memorial in Menomonee Falls and thank God for him nightly. I have heard great things about Dr. Chua as well. I have a cheesecake recipe that gets protein into me easily. It's simple: 2-8 oz. pk of fat free cream cheese, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup Splenda and a little lemon juice. Mix together. Put 1 teaspoon of graham cracker crumbs in the bottoms of a 6 muffin tin srayed with Pam and put in the mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Each is 100 calories and 11 gms of protein. It is easy to eat early on. Take care, Linda
