Things are going so fast here I can't believe it. I started my journey in November. The clinic sent my paperwork to my ins in Jan. a week later I was approved and yesterday I got my date. MARCH 1ST!!!!!!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I'm not afraid at all and am really at peace with this decision I've made. I know it'll be great for me. My mom and my sister are not so supportive but that's ok. My hubby is. So, I want to hear it all...what should I have on hand as far as "food" goes. I'm nervous about the pureed meat

Hi Amy- I am new to all this also. I started the process in January, was approved in late January, and because of scheduling conflicts, will have my surgery March 19. I am excited but apprehensive. Where will you have the surgery? A good friend of mine had this surgery one year ago last month. She looks great and feels even better. Please let me know how it goes! I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Hi Jean, I'm having my surgery the day after you (Mar. 20th). I'm having my surgery at Theda Clark in Neenah. You're lucky to have an understanding friend. My sister will barely speak to me and i know it will get worse as the weight goes off. Good thing I have my husband (not so sure how much he understands though). Good luck to you. I hope to hear how it goes. Anne

Hi I am also new at this. I had surgery on Jan 30, 2007 and I am just at the stage for the pureed meat. It really is not bad at all. I am down 20 pounds already and the time is going so fast. No complications at all. Actually it was an easy surgery. The air they pump you with is the hardest thing to work thru. I have to remind myself to eat three times a day. It is amazing !! Good luck to you in your surgery. first week - have clear broth, sugar free jello available. second and third week - I use crab meat with 1 tbl of low fat mayo, canned turkey and chicken in water, eggs, Blue Bunny carb freedom yogurt. Don't be nervous there is so much out there !!
