Hello! I am a northern Wisconsinite. I am preparing for WLS. What can trigger a denial by an insurance company to not allow one to receive permission for the surgery? I have Security Health Insurance. Any thoughts?

Hi K! I am from Wausau and working with Dr. Johnson's office and also have security health insurance. My understanding for approval is that you must have a bmi over 40, 6 months of a medically supervised diet and 2 psych evaluations. I go for my 2nd nutritionist appointment next week and have seen the psych once. So I have 4 months to go but hopefully they will go by fast. I also understand that Security is reletively easy to work with. I am not really sure what would trigger a denial if you meet all of the other requirements. I haven't had to do anything yet as Dr. Johnson's office has done everything so far! Dr. Johnson's office staff are really wonderful!!
