~ Lap Band & Kenosha Support Group ~

Hello! Are their any lap bandsters in the Kenosha area? And...does anyone know if the support group at KMH is for Dr. J's patients only ...also for gastric bypass patients only? Thanks!

The support group is for all WLS people not just Dr. J's. I have not been there yet, but plan on going after my RNY this month. I am not using Dr. J.

I have been looking for a grup. Can you tell me what your talking about? I would love to NOT run to Milwaukee all the time!!!

Hello Nicole ~ On one of the posts below someone was so kind as to post the info for the Kenosha group. It is: The Bariatric Support group meets the 3rd Monday of every month. Our monthly support group provides a secure, warm setting for patients undergoing the process of lifetime diet and lifestyle changes that can improve surgery outcomes and are necessary to achieve enduring weight loss. Free support sessions are conducted from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kenosha Medical Center Campus, 6308 Eighth Avenue, Kenosha. To received further information, please call (262) 654-7002. I have not been to one support group due to mine was in Chicago....It is nice to have them close to home!

I called the office, next Monday night the topic is healthy eating / strategies for weight loss. Timely right before Thanksgiving! Also...park on the 2nd floor of KMH and go across the sky walk and then take a left, the class is held in the community education room. :spin:

Just an FYI... there is no December support group meeting at KMH. They are having a Christmas party instead of the meeting. The next meeting will be January. I had my surgery done in another part of the state, and they welcomed me with open arms. The leader, who also works in the Bariatric department, is also a WLS patient. Give it a shot! Chris

Yea...the party was last Friday...it was AWESOME! You are right...I attended 1 support group and they welcomed me with open arms and invited myself & a guest (!!) to the party.....was a great time! My sister was Dr. J's part time nurse for awhile and she has nothing but glowing things to say about him...I am going to see him this week for my first visit ....He was able at the party to diagnosis what my problem is....my surgeon never listened to me...so this is going to be good!
